Aroma® 10-Cup Cool-Touch Rice Cooker & Vegetable Steamer

Simple to use, but if it breaks so soon, what value is that?

It worked fine for the first 2-3 uses, then the thermostat malfunctioned, stopping the cooking process after about 10 minutes of cook time. This, of course, left the rice uncooked.

I figure it made about 10 total cups of cooked rice. Maybe I should have purchased a 24 cup unit for an extra 14 cups...

Just got this cooker a couple of days ago. I have never owned a rice cooker before so I wasn't sure what to expect. The instructions were easy to follow and it made great brown rice. The instructions state that you should use an additional 3/4 cup of water for brown rice. This means an additional 3/4 of water per cup of rice. I was concerned about burning and sticking to the bottom of the pan but this did not occur. I have also made steel cut oats in it and they turned out just as they should. The cooker is very easy to clean and the "improved" steam vent seems to work well. I would recommend this to anyone looking to buy a basic no frills rice cooker.

This rice cooker is easy to use, easy to clean and makes perfect rice. It will also steam vegetables and shrimp. It has a keep warm setting which is automatic. When my dinner is still in the works, the rice will stay warm for at least 1/2 hour. I would highly recommend this as an additional tool for any kitchen.
