I discovered Berndes years ago when I purchased my first piece at an outlet store. It is rather expensive but worth the extra cost. It lasts forever if you are somewhat careful. I don't wash mine in the dishwasher. This particlar stock pot is great for soups, pasta, and sauces for a crowd.

My recently replaced my tired old Steelon 6 Qt pot which I loved for this beauty.Talk about an upgrade.Going from a Yugo to a Mercedes.I loved my old pot but this Berndes is fantastic.I acquired a Berndes 9.5 inch skillet and was so pleased with it's weight despite it's thickness and the way it cooked I decided to pull the trigger on this stock pot.What a great decision.It heats up quickly and I haven't noticed hot spots. It responds fairly quickly to changes in burner settings but I barely have used high except to brown meat.
For it's size it is light compared to a stainless steel with a disc base of equal size.And it has the cooking characteristics of thick aluminum which I find hard to beat for using lower heat settings.The interior seems durable but it's too early for me to tell if it will last or not.But I had no problems with sticking so far using little or no oil or butter. For now I'm very happy with the way it cooks.
