I purchased this for my daughter. The pot is very attractive and seems well made. However, on my last visit to her (only about a month after purchase) I noticed the outside enamel had some scratches on it already. I expected better quality.

You have your wonderful but expensive stainless steel stock pots. Then you have your cheap but fragile enamelware stock pot. The Columbian stock pot, while admittedly a bit more toward the enamelware end of things, is a nice affordable compromise. I've made several turkey stocks with it now, and it can easily accommodate the entire bird carcass. And using medium to low heat (which you should be anyway), there's not a noticeable mark on the pot. The glass lid is solid and substantial, with a handle that stays relatively cool. Though the lid has a vent on the top, it's pretty small, and I've usually had a lot of condensation forming on the lid, then dripping down the side of the pot onto the stove. Not unusual, but now you've been warned. Oh! And it looks great, too. I see this as lasting for a while, but when the need arises, I'll happily buy another one.

I really wanted this pot cause the color was great but the enamel is too fragile. I ordered it twice but both pots were damaged in shipping. I was not willing to keep it and risk getting enamel chips in my food. Very disappointed.
