Summary: Uneven heat 2010-08-29
Comment: I had been using a thirty-year-old 4 qt crock pot and loved it. So I got this one. Big mistake. I tried to make a chicken dinner in this pot, let it cook for the appropriate length of time, let it cook for an additional hour, and then the chicken was still not done. Maybe it's not the brand but rather the shape of this crock pot - maybe it's better to have a round crock pot and not an oval one. Either way, I want another crock pot like my old one!

Summary: A VERY SLOW COOKER !! 2010-03-28
Comment: I had to replace my last crockpot (purchased at Sam's Club) and I loved it. This one was supposed to be the same size but is MUCH smaller. The thing I dislike most is that it is for sure a slow cooker. I used the 'high' setting to cook things 4-5 hours with my last one and it worked just as well as 8-10 hours on 'low'. This one will not cook things in 4-5 hours, it takes 6-7 hours. A lot of times I didn't know who was coming for dinner until lunchtime so I could put meat in after lunch on 'high' and it was ready for dinner. This one will not be a help to me in that respect. I have not tried the slow cooking setting, it may take longer too.

Summary: Very poor quality and customer service 2010-03-19
Comment: We have owned our CrockPot for about 1 year now. The lid handle broke off and the handle on the outside also cracked. I contacted CrockPot (Jarden) by email. In a very nice way I was told that they don't have replacement handles and I would have to buy a lid. You would think they would send me a 10 cent plastic lid handle or if they wanted to keep me as a customer send me a discount coupon for another one. They need to take a lesson from Zappo shoes. Now thats one company I will always buy from. In any case, it could be they have so many customers they can afford to lose a few. I always say "THE BIGGER A COMPANY GETS, THE SMALLER IT'S BRAIN GETS"

Comment: So far it works well. Just know that it has a smell of ceramic when you first start using it.
I love that you set the time and it goes to warm after that cook time.

Comment: This was listed as a 6 qt. cooker and when I got it, it was actually a 5.5 qt. Not a lot of difference, but I really wanted a 6 qt. or bigger, so I sent this one back. They did a FANTASTIC job with the return.
