Summary: Burns everything on low setting! 2010-08-25
Comment: I think the fastest way to boil a pot of water in my household is with this crockpot. For some reason the "low" setting is actually very hot and food is cooked to temperature within about 2 hours. I do not recommend this item and would not purchase it again. Very disappointed. I wanted a slow cooker and this does not do the job.

Summary: Don't buy Rival Crock Pots! 2010-07-21
Comment: I had my Rival Crock Pot for only 5 years. The handle on the lid broke because where the screw goes in, the plastic had melted. When I tried to contact customer service to get a new lid, they told me the only thing I could do was buy a whole new unit. Thanks for nothing Rival! I will NOT buy your products again!

Summary: Flimsy knob makes for errors in temp setting 2010-07-13
Comment: Worked great until...
One day turned the knob to low and came home to cold raw chicken. Somehow the unit inside didn't go to low but instead went off (even though unit plugged in and the little knob pointed to low). So irked that I'm tossing it. Not risking wasting anymore food if the little knob is that flimsy and unreliable.

Summary: Way too hot!!! 2010-06-23
Comment: I bought this a couple years ago for $12 at a Black Friday sale at Lowes. I thought it seemed like a good deal, well you get what you pay for I guess! You cannot put any meat in this and set it to low for all day cooking, if you do you will get something that resembles shoe leather! It is just too darn hot! I am going to try cooking on the warm setting, if that doesn't work this thing is going into the dumpster!

Summary: Burns Everything! 2010-06-10
Comment: I HATE this crockpot. I'm a crockpot junkie. I have a ton of tried and true recipes that my family loves. We live in the desert so we use the crockpot nearly all summer to avoid standing over a hot stove. We recently moved and my crockpot broke. So, I found this one. It is terrible. It cooks way too fast. I'm used to getting something started early in the morning and eating later in the day. That is the entire point, right? Apprently not anymore. Recipes that are supposed to take hours are taking one. I tried to make cornbread in the crockpot. This is something I've done before. 3.5 hours and it is perfect. I didn't even have this crockpot on for an hour and suddenly I could smell burning cornbread! It doesn't matter which setting you use. Even the warm setting will keep things boiling. Unless I stay close by, this crockpot ruins everything I've tried. Having to stand there babysitting the meal defeats the entire purpose of a crockpot. There is no way I'd feel safe leaving the house with this thing on. I completely regret I picked this model.
