Product Description
Cuisinart has introduced branded cookware with the new GreenGourmet line. Exclusive Cuisinart Ceramica nonstick technology is ceramic based instead of petroleum based, helping to conserve existing oil supplies and the coating is applied at a temperature one half that of conventional nonsticks. And it’s completely free of PTFE and PFOA. The cookware’s hard anodized construction provides high heat conductivity, which requires less energy to reach desired cooking temperatures. Riveted stainless handles stay cool on the stovetop and are made from 70% recycled stainless steel. Today, more and more home cooks are going green… and so is Cuisinart cookware! The 8 quart stock pot is the back bone of any stovetop, this stock pot has the capacity to broil everything from large batches of pasta to big pots of chili.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great non-stick attributes so far, September 5, 2009

I've had several of the Cuisinart GreenGourmet frying pans that are great at first but had to be exchanged when they started to stick. When they stick, they are awful, much worse than Teflon ever was. Even though they didn't start to flake like Teflon can, they became unusable. I had the same disappointing results with another "green" line, the Greenpan Thermolon sold on Home Shopping Network. They tell you to season these kinds of pans by coating them in vegetable oil and putting them in a 300 degree oven for an hour but that did absolutely no good.

So far so good with this stock pot though, I've had it for three months now. I use it quite often for soups, stews and curries and it has been wonderful - no sticking and cleanup is a breeze. It looks very high quality and the size is perfect. I was actually replacing a 5 quart stockpot and was worried it would be too big but it is tall and narrow instead of short and squat so it actually takes up less room on the...Read more

Most of our pots are Chantal. We're quite happy with them, but whenever I drop one the enamel chips off a little and exposes the steel. Having done this one too many times, my wife got me one of these Cuisinart pots as a replacement. I'm happy with it - it works quite well. The inner non-stick surface seems to be very non-stick. We've only used it about a half dozen times, so I can't guarantee that the non-stick will hold up in the long term, but it has worked quite well so far.
One thing that I still like better about the Chantal pots are they glass lids that let me see through without lifting. The Cuisinart lid is metal and must be lifted for peeks inside.

People think that Teflon is metal, but it's plastic. It scratches, it burns, and most of all, it's a by-product of the refinement of crude oil. In other words, it's a nasty chemical that slowly leaches, picks, and flakes its way into our food. I like the idea of Teflon-free, which is why I purchased Cuisinart's Green Gourmet line. Cooking is even, nothing sticks, and it's not Teflon. Be careful though, some Teflon-coated products come up when searching Green Gourmet. Beware the search engine - read carefully!
