Product Review

Canning is an economical way to preserve fresh quality foods at home while retaining their important vitamins and nutrients. The right equipment is essential to ensure a quality product and Granite Ware offers all the basics of blanching produce for the freezer or for cold-pack canning. This 21.5-qt. enameled steel pot with lid and wire rack is 14-in. in diameter and 12.5-in. high with its lid on. It's the traditional favorite for making jams, jellies, preserves, and marmalades. It has a jar capacity of 7 quarts, 7 pints, 7-12oz jelly jars, 7 half pints or 7-4oz jelly jars. Without its rack, this old-fashioned, time-honored porcelain-on-steel pot becomes a perfect preserving kettle for large recipes.

Good Product, arrived quickly and in perfect condition. Used it for my first ever canning experience. It worked great. I found that the rack will not hold pint/half pint jars without them slipping through. Will have to purchase a different rack if canning in smaller jars.

This set was very helpful in making my first serious foray into canning a success. I'm particularly enamored of the rack, which holds the quart jars securely, and makes lowering them into the boiling water a whole lot safer and easier than my old, rack-free method (which consisted of dropping 'em in and hoping the hot water splashed somewhere other than on my hand)- ditto with removing them. In addition, Amazon's price was far and away the best I found anywhere. I'm really looking forward to eating fresh-canned nectarines in January!

Very Durable. Heats up Faster than most canners. Lasts a long time. This is my second one in 40 years of canning. The other one is still useable but since my husband helps me we have more items to can at once so need no less than two cold pack canners at once.
