Product Review

This large 15-1/2-quart pot and steamer insert is sized properly for tamales. The technology for apply porcelain creates a durable, chip resistant product that lasts most families a lifetime. The glass like surface is inert and does not react with or alter the taste of food and even the most stubborn foods clean up easily with warm soapy water. Black

My first time making Tamales and this Tamale pot was perfect for steaming them. Arrived in good shape but I think they could have put a bit more padding around the pot. I did check it for any dents or chips and there was no damage. I placed my tamales standing up and I think I got about (at least) 20 to fit (depends how full you fill them!) I have an inherited old graniteware turkey roaster and also canning pot - they are still going strong and although big pieces they are light weight and easy to store.

Unfortunately, the description of this item does not mention that it cannot be used on glass cooktops. When I received the item, there was a sticker on the pot itself that said it should not be used on a glass cooktop stove. I don't know how I would rate this item if I had been able to use it but I was quite disappointed with the description.
