With the handles, it's 15.5" across - i wasn't expecting anything that big. So keep that in mind when you factor in where you plan to store it. But it operates very well, have not had any problem at all with overheating, which seems to be a major complaint of many brands and models, and have tried it with several recipies using the 2- and 4-quart size bowls. On Target site, multiple people complined that it stopped working shortly after purchase. That worried me, but so far I have been lucky, and it's working fine. 24 of 25 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Hamilton Beach 33133H 3-in-1 Slow Cooker, White (Kitchen) This slow cooker is the very best, with crocks in multiple sizes and heat settings that range between high and warm. The heat source is extremely reliable and calibrated for typical slow-cooker recipes. As mentioned by other reviewers, it is a fairly large unit, but the big handles make manipulation easy and safe and it is worth the trade-off.
One reviewer mentioned that the heat calibrations were too high - I suspect that may have been the fault of the individual pot or, possibly, the user did not recognize the additional buttons on the front of the mechanism to set which pot size you are using. Additionally, they commented that the heat source was bottom only, not all around - that is typical of slow-cookers. They rely on the heat-diffusing nature of the crockery for evenness of heating. I have had a number of slow-cookers over the years ranging from the most basic of 1970's era "Crock Pots" to expensive and high-end slow-cookers, and this one is my...Read more 28 of 30 people found the following review helpful: By Bingo 63 (Nevada) - See all my reviews This review is from: Hamilton Beach 33133H 3-in-1 Slow Cooker, White (Kitchen) I bought this 3-in-1 slower cooker because I like the idea to have 3 different pots. I was skeptical at the beginning because the base did not cover the whole 6 qt. pot, in another word, it did not have the wrap-around heating feature. I cooked a soup in the 6 qt. pot last night and it proved that I was correct. The soup was burned at the bottom and the sides that were against the heating base. When the slow cooker was set at low setting, the soup was boiling. Besides, the edge of the heating base was very hot which could be dangerous. |
