Product Review

Though fast food is popular, traditionalists favor the flavors brought out from the slow cooking process. Slow Food is an idea, a way of living and a way of eating. Take stews, as an example of a popular food that is most successful when slow cooked. A slow method permits the tastes and fragrances of different ingredients to gestate and mature as they meld into a complementary dish. This sort of simulates the type of cooking that used a kettle in a fireplace. Food was created to satisfy hunger and stimulate senses. It is a dish in its most holistic form.
The Hamilton Beach 33169 Slow Cooker rivals the crock pot as a product that easy to use and handle. Holding over 4-quarts of food, the cooking process is slow and enduring. Flavors enjoy the opportunities to enjoin with each other and develop fragrant aromas that are only mere suggestions in more rapid cooking processes. This was the flavorful dish that your grandmother made and that you remember so well. The crock has a nonstick surface and is easy to clean. There's a selectable on/off switch and a digital display. Powerd by 110-120-Volt electricity, the 33169 is safe, reliable, and sure.
This is cookware you'll appreciate using most often for family, friends, and self. Here are a some of the greatest advantages of slow cooking:

This review is from: Hamilton Beach 33169 Slow Cooker
This slow cooker was the perfect size and had excellent temperature settings. But it stunk. After a few uses, the rubber lid gasket of this product developed the odor of old food. I always washed it soon after use, but even after going through the dishwasher multiple times, hand-washing, soaking in vinegar, and using a baking soda paste the lid still has a horrible odor. My mother's slow cookers that she's used for years and even stored leftovers in have never developed odor problems. Her lids are made entirely of glass. Unfortunately when I contacted Hamilton, they informed me that they do not make any of their lids entirely of glass. After my experience I read some reviews of other Hamilton slow cookers and found the lid gasket odor to be a frequent reason for negative comments. I am very disappointed in this product and am now shopping for a new slow cooker without rubber or plastic on the lid.
