This cooker solves the problem of transporting gumbo, chili or other slow cooker foods without spilling.

Before, I was always trying to control spillage in the back of the vehicle with aluminum foil under the lid, putting the cooker in cardboard boxes with paper towels, etc. None of that ever worked without some mess.

Now when the lid is locked down we are good to go.

I love almost everything about the HB 7 Qt Slow Cooker. The four rubber feet really keep it stable and prevent sliding on the countertop. The fact that the handles fold down when not needed for carying is really convenient and makes for better storage. The lid fits well and the latch is secure for traveling. My two dissatisfactions are that, even on "Low" heat, the liquid boils. Also, the first time (I learn quickly, so it won't happen again!) I lifted the lid, my arm was burned by the escaping steam. Because the lid is hinged to the cooker at the back, you cannot remove the lid in a sideways motion, but have to raise it straight upward, which releases the steam from the front of the cooker where I stood.

I recently bought this slow cooker. I absolutely love it. It cooks evenly, and every recipe I've tried comes out beautifully. I also like the fold up handles, and the way the top is secured while cooking. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Nothing negative to report on this one, that's for sure!
