Great value if capacity and power are of primal concern,

I would have given if 4.5 stars if there was a choice for that. Some cleaning issues (see towards end below) detracted from 5 stars.
I've been using it almost daily for 6 months now and love it. I mainly use it to chop all kinds of vegetables, make pesto, chop garlic, and grate cheese. I picked it for is capacity, since I wanted to minimize my choping time by doing more at once. But, found its very easy cleanup and powerful motor a big bonus. I can fill it to the rim with onions, carrots, kale, what ever, and it is well designed to not only chop when the thing is full, but efficiently move the stuff so that it is chopped throughout, and not just at the bottom. You do have to fill it aleast to a minimum level for this action to work.
I though I should respond to that wildly negative feedback:
>1. It's well over a foot tall and very bulky, taking up ALOT of space. This thing is HUGE.
*well, it is not so huge, but it has a base about...Read more

After cooking for my family for 25 years I broke down and decided to buy a food processor. After researching here, I decided this Hamilton Beach Big Mouth was the biggest workhorse for the littlest price. I was right. It is very easy to learn how to operate, it +chops, slices, and grates in seconds, and best of all is its "big mouth." Yep, just stick a whole onion, whole zucchini, or whatever in there and out it comes without dragging out your cutting board and knife to cut it half first.
I also purchased separately the french fry cutter blade, which makes awesome fries at just the right size. A piece of advice: DO NOT go to Walmart, Target, etc. and get this processor without that bonus blade! You really need that as the other blade slices very very thin.
Overall, I am VERY happy with this purchase. I keep it on my counter so I can use it without the pain of getting it out. It looks nice there.

I see the positive reviews for this thing, but I just really hate mine. I've had it for 7 months now, and every time I use it, I end up frustrated. Heck, this this manages to frustrate me even when when I'm not using it because of all the cabinet space it wastes. Here's my list of cons:
1. It's well over a foot tall and very bulky, taking up ALOT of space. This thing is HUGE.
2. The cord is under the machine and wraps around manually underneath. If you wind it in the wrong direction, it won't fit right, so start over. It's also a pain to hook it under the little tabs to keep the cord in place.
3. The suction cups on the bottom sound like a good idea, but they're more of a pain. I would rather have non-slip rubber disks on the bottom. But then again, for a machine as tall as this, perhaps it NEEDS to be suction cupped down.
4. I've tried pureeing with it several times. Unless it's filled to the max, it just pushes the food to the side and the blades chop air...Read more
