Comment: I sent this to my son in FL who is single and lives alone. Then I went to visit him. I realized that I should have sent this size Slow Cooker to my daughter who has 3 children and a husband because it definitely is too big for a single guy. I don't know how well it works because I did not use it. I just wanted to mention that if you want a BIG cooker, this is the one for you!

Summary: Works Well 2010-02-11
Comment: I like the oval shape as it makes it a bit more versatile. I was able to use it this holiday season for an oval shaped spiral ham. The bottom did dry out a bit after 8 hours, but the rest of it was wonderful. This crock pot has been used many times since then and here is a few things I noticed.
*The body is very thin and will dent easily
*Slow to heat up, so I often start it at high for .5-1 hour and then turn it down
*Lid does not fit securely and often will hear a "pop" sound once it heats up as it adjusts, but this does nothing more than startle me.
*First time I used it, it smelled awful! Second time, didn't notice it as much. Not unusual for a new kitchen appliance, but can be scary if you don't know to expect it.
*Heats evenly
*Outside of the crock pot does get hot! A quick touch will not scold, however, picking up to move on the counter top will.
*The insert is heavy. My mother tried to wash it and could not lift it due to arthritis. I can lift and wash with no problems, but it does give me a work out.
Overall, I am very pleased with this. I researched this product and others before purchasing and I truly believe that this was the best buy for the money.

Summary: defective product by a company of swindlers 2009-12-05
Comment: Once received the meat grinder did not grind at all because of defective plate/knive set. Kalorik has ignored my inquiries about the warranty nor they wanted to communicate with me. It looks like after their product is sold they don't want to deal with customers anymore. How such company of swindlers and thieves can be in the market?

Summary: Great slow cooker 2009-04-10
Comment: This is a great basic slow cooker. The little bit of added size over other brands is really handy. It looks nice and cooks nice. You can't ask for more than that.

Summary: good, big, basic 2007-12-24
Comment: What more can be said? This is a big, basic, cooker that does its job. The only detractor was that there was an errata sheet included explaining that the controls were put on backwards, such that high meant low and low meant high. That seems a pretty big deal when paying for something you think is not a factory second, but with an Amazon Gift Certificate and free shipping, I got it for 4 bucks, so I can't complain too much!
