Summary: Cooks great, but not safe for around kids. 2007-02-10
Comment: This is my first large slow cooker, so I have nothing to compare it to, but I am tempted to go find a different one. First off the lid is VERY poor fitting. The lid is almost to small to sit on top correctly, and it is very wobbly. I was afraid to use it the first time because of this. I did use it however and the food turned out great. So I got it out today for a second time. I am cooking on low, and yet the outside of the pot is scorching hot. Not just a little hot, but even a tap could cause a burn. Because of this I might be able to use it for cooking dinners and have it pushed way back on the counter, but I could never use it for parties where there are lots of people near by, ot in contact with it.
