The largest of Le Creuset's stockpots, this one holds corn on the cob, lobsters or crabs, soup, chili, and just about anything else you can boil or simmer in quantity. Le Creuset makes the pot of high-gauge steel with a strong enamel coating, resulting in a lighter weight than the company's cast-iron pots, yet very durable. A shiny rim made of stainless steel helps prevent cracks and chips. I made my first pot of seafood gumbo and the Cherry Red Stockpot was perfect. I can't wait to use it again. It should last forever!

I bought this pot at Christmas and just got around to opening the package. Unfortunately the lid is defective. It doesn't fit the pot securely and jiggles when you touch one side or the other. I had hoped to use it for canning on my induction cooktop, but the lid is just too loose. In addition, the lid has a soft dent at the top that appears to be the result of a manufacturing error, and it has a few nicks that may impact its durability. This is an expensive pot, and I was expecting better quality from Le Creuset. I have some Lodge pots that are much higher quality and were much less expensive. I have contacted Amazon to see if they will send me another lid and will update this review once I hear from them. I should have opened the package earlier but got too busy over the holidays. I hope Amazon's customer service comes through, or I am stuck with an expensive and defective pot and lid.

The Le Creuset stockpot was a gift we bought for a friend's birthday. He was so happy to receive it that he made soup right away. We were told that his soup came out perfectly cooked. Our friend was very satisfied with his stockpot which made us quite happy that we purchased it for him.
