Fondue, long part of dining tradition as much as entertaining fare, makes an elegant appearance in this Le Creuset Traditional Fondue set. The enamel coating inside ensures that the pot will not absorb odors or flavors while cast iron construction helps in retaining heat so you can dip over and over and not have to reheat. Plus, it's dishwasher safe. Includes a black enamel burner and stand, 6 stainless fondue forks with different colored ends, and a cast iron, enamel coated fondue pot. Cooks and heats on a stovetop equally well.About Le Creuset...Since 1925, artisans have been crafting Le Creuset cookware in the French village of Fresnoy Le Grand. Each piece of Le Creuset cast iron cookware is handcast, polished, double enamel-coated and then fired, resulting in some of the finest quality cookware available. Heavy lids securely seal in moisture and flavor. Le Creuset cookware comes in a variety of sizes, colors and styles to match any kitchen and cooking preference. So lasting, you'll pass it on to the next generation of promising cooks.

Amazon.com Review

Ooh la la! Le Creuset, famous for its beautiful enameled cast-iron cookware, offers this handsome, heavyweight fondue set that is wonderful for an intimate party or romantic dinner. Made in France, whose famous Alps are dotted with dozens of authentic fondue restaurants, it turns out a delicious meal with little fuss. The trick to fondue is keeping it evenly heated for the length of a party or dinner--cheese fondue in particular separates or burns onto the pot if the temperature varies or the pot has hot spots. This fondue set, with its even conductivity of cast iron, maintains a regular, gentle heat that keeps cheese, chocolate, or other sauces smooth and well-heated. The pot rests above a heavy, black cast-iron stand, which shelters an adjustable alcohol burner. Brightly colored, sturdy and charming, this is a set to be passed down through many generations of cooks. --Maria Dolan

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid fondue with class, December 18, 2000

The Le Creuset pot is great. It can cook cheese, broth and oil fondues equally well. Cheese fondues won't burn since the iron heats more evenly than thin stainless sets. It won't break if dropped like the ceramic bowls. You can start on the stove, unlike the ceramic pots, so you only have one to clean. The set is very heavy which keeps it from accidentally tippping (a good thing with a pot of boiling oil). The enamel interior cleans easily even with burned -on food. Looks smarter than the cheap sets too. If you're going to make fondue more than once, get a good product.

To some the price might seem a little high, but if you are looking for a top quality fondue pot this is the one to buy. The pot itself is heavy and holds and distributes heat very well. I've used many other fondue pots with less than perfect results.

We make a lot of cheese and chocolate fondue and I have never burned either with this pot, even when the fondue has had a flame on it for a couple of hours.

The base is very sturdy and I have no fear of the pot falling off it even when the kids are goofing around trying to get last of the chocolate.

The burner always lights for me (some others I've used have not worked as well). It burns liquid fuel and jel fuel so there is never a problem trying to decide what to buy. Use the liquid when you need a hotter flame (for broths and deep frying), use the jel for a slightly cooler flame (for cheese and chocolate). But, either fuel will work for whatever you are heating.

I like this fondue pot so...Read more

The Le Creuset pot is great. I hardly can't believe that the person who wrote under the alias LeRippoff actually owns one of these sets.
The only thing that dissapointed me is the fact that the burner where the pan is on gets hot which makes it impossible to place the fondueset directly on the table or to pick it up without any precautions. For the rest just compliments for this set: heats evenly, easy to clean, functional on all heat-sources, heavy, looks just right.
Unfortunately these assets do not come for free. Think its quite pricy but worth its money.
