We bought the slow cooker a few months ago and so far I consider it a good deal.
I like the flat lid a lot. It fits well, easy to store (just flip the lid over - it's very stable) and a couple of times when we were short of serving dishes we just used the lid - already pre-heated. You can also conveniently warm up food on top of the lid without overheating it while the cooker is working.
Unlike most slow cookers the pot doesn't go into the heating element, it goes on top of it. The advantages - you can use the heating element - a flat surface - with other utensils, plus this is the most compact 6 qt cooker I've seen so far. The disadvantage - the pot gets very hot - make sure you place it where nobody, especially children, can reach it by accident.
