Have you ever been serving coffee and not sure if it is too hot or too cold? Do not use your lips as a guinea pig. This carafe has a strong construction and the Temp Assure Thermometer removes the guesswork of serving hot or cold beverages. The thermometer is a small prong that reads the vapor of the beverage inside the carafe.

This stylish stainless-steel carafe with a two-liter capacity allows coffee to be made ahead of time and kept hot for serving after dinner, or keeps ice tea cold for taking on a picnic. The vacuum insulation provides excellent heat (or cold) retention for up to 12 hours, and the black synthetic handle and spout make pouring easy. Primula takes the guesswork out of whether the contents are too hot or not hot enough with TempAssure technology, which consists of a probe inside the vessel that reads vapor from the beverage, then displays the temperature externally on the lid. This holds a full pot of coffee, but doesn't keep it nearly as hot as the smaller carafe I own. Good for a few hours, but beyond that, you'll need to heat the contents again.

Had it less than a year and worked fine but the button for pouring just stopped working broke somehow!!! Trying to get a replacement from the manufacturer. Keeping fingers crossed as I paid the $40+ for it and had it less than a year.

The TempAssure feature sounded great, but is the downfall of an otherwise good product.

The lid employs a probe to measure the air temperature inside the carafe and display it on a gauge. The valve that opens and closes to dispense coffee moves up and down on that probe, and that's the problem. When you pour coffee, you move the o-ring seal down the probe and it stays there. You have now created a path for coffee or water to get into the TempAssure lid and grow any number of things.

If I never knocked it over or never washed the lid, it would be perfect.

The food safety aspects prompted me to throw it out rather than give it to charity.
