Product Description
Prepare healthy, home-cooked meals in a snap with the Rival SCR450-W 4.5 Quart Crock Pot Slow Cooker. The crock pot is ideal three to four people and can cook everything from casseroles and soups to curries, pot roasts and more. Simply add ingredients to the unit's stoneware pot, then store it in the refrigerator for cooking at a later time or set it in the electric base.

Choose low or high heat by simply turning the control knob. The slow cooker's glass lid allows for keeping an eye on the cooking process, and its stay-cool side loop handles and lid handle make it safe to lift the lid or transport the unit. The stoneware pot with its Rinse-Clean coating, along with the glass lid, cleans up easily by hand or in the dishwasher. The manual comes included with recipes for corned beef and cabbage, hickory smoked brisket, barbecued ribs, beef pot roast, turkey pot pie and more. Dimensions: 13-1/5 x 13 x 9-3/5 (Inches). Includes Manufacturer's Warranty.

5.0 out of 5 stars simple to use, simple to clean, and just the right size, May 4, 2005

I bought this Crock-Pot when my old one died. My previous slow cooker wasn't actually a Crock-Pot, it was just a no name slow cooker. I don't know if that matters but I can tell you I like this one MUCH more than the previous. Here's why:

1) It's white. All these stainless colored appliances look nice in pictures but are a nightmare to have in the kitchen. It's much easier to keep a white appliance clean.

2) The crockery part comes out for microwaving, cleaning, storing in the fridge, etc and can be placed in the dishwasher, including the lid.

3) 4.5 quarts is just the right size for 2 people with a small amount of left overs. It's absolutely perfect size for 4 people with no leftovers. The oval shape is nice for putting in small roasts. The round slow cookers of the same size require you cut up a roast first.

4) The heat goes up the sides. My old slow cooker only had heat on the bottom. I think when the heat is on the sides and the...Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars BEWARE THE LID HANDLE ISSUE, October 27, 2007
By

I have one of these little slow cookers. It is just perfect for us. HOWEVER my only complaint against RIVAL is when (not if) the plastic lid handle cracks or breaks, Rival does not warranty it. You must by a brand new lid. I reluctantly agreed to go ahead and order one through my Rival customer rep and after shipping and state taxes the item came to $19.99 and wasn't even available in the same color as my slow cooker! I asked why the whole lid has to be replaced when the handle is screwed on and she said they didn't make handle replacements for this model slow cooker. I quickly decided to cancel the order. Instead, I went to my local Menard's and purchased a lid handle for under $2.00 with state tax. Other than this issue, the little pot cooks great. I have owned several Rival slow cookers and I intend to buy more of their products. I will pay attention to how the handle is secured on the lid BEFORE I purchase it though!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rival Stoneware Crock Pot, March 12, 2007
I love this Crock Pot as well. It's the perfect way to make pulled pork or Italian beef sandwiches (among many other great recipes). Like the previous reviewer said, it won't feed a huge crowd. I got around that by making one pork roast the day before and one the day of our party. The stoneware cleans up nicely, and it actually looks pretty sitting on my counter (mine is white with a deep blue insert). During the first 13 years of my marriage, I had zero interest in slow cookers. Now I use my Crock Pot all the time, and I can't figure out why I waited so long to buy one.
