Summary: no replacement parts 2008-07-24
Comment: The unit is great but a waste of money since Rival doesn't have any replacement lids, nor do they intend to. It's a crockery lid, and proved VERY fragile. Now I have a useless crockpot and no chance to replace the broken lid.
Would NEVER buy a Rival unit again.

Summary: Excellent crock pot 2008-07-21
Comment: Used it a hand full of times now, and it works as advertised. It might be a *bit* more pricey than other options, but the timer built into it and the ability to throw the pot on the stove for browning your meat makes it all worth it. Seems nice and solidly built, too. Highly recommended!

Summary: Four stars with reservations 2008-07-03
Comment: I have only cooked in this crock once since it arrived. I made my usual split pea soup, cooked on low. The soup was better than ever, but I did have a couple of issues. First, the temp. reached over 200 degrees on low as registered by an instant read thermoneter. A bit of the soup burned around the bottom edges of the pot, and after cleaning by hand and then again in the dish washer, the stoneware had a white stain inside. I tried vinegar too, but could not remove the stain.I'm trying another recipe favorite today, so I'll see how it goes.

Comment: I purchsed this as a gift and had it gift wrapped and sent directly to my sister. She was thrilled and couldn't get over the gift wrap. It was a beautiful blue cloth bag and ribbon, a definite keeper she said.

Summary: Pretty Cool!!! 2008-06-13
Comment: I love how you can brown your meat and cook in one pot. But like another reveiwer mentioned, it would be nice to have a lid that was see through. Because you always wonder how it is looking. I love my crock pot.
