This 16-quart stainless steel pot is just what I was looking for and at a price I wanted to pay. When it arrived I was very pleased with its high quality and good weight. The lid fits snugly "within" the pot so there are no drips and run-overs during cooking, effectively sealing in the flavors and nutrients of the food being cooked. I make bone broth on a regular basis, and this pot is ideal for a couple of chickens and/or beef bones, plus all this vegetables. I really appreciate that the cooking is quiet, with no slop-over messes. I also use this pot to make yogurt. After filling 5 1-quart jars with whole milk, I place them inside the pot filled with some water. With the lid firmly in place, the temperature of the milk quickly reaches 185 degrees. This is ten times faster than any other pot I've used. In addition, and this is the part I absolutely love, there is no clean up of burned-on milk, which I always have using any other pot. I highly recommend this particular stock...Read more

I got the 32 quart stock pot (8 gallons) and it is truely a commercial grade item. I don't know what gauge metal it is, but it's definitely the heaviest pot I've ever encountered. The lid is solid and fits nice and flat. There is 6 point welding on the two handles. It has an encapsulated sandwich bottom consisting of 5mm thick aluminum core for even heat distribution. Another way of putting this is the aluminum is encased in two sheets of stainless steel. Good for us who don't want aluminum in our food or beer. I am so glad I held off purchasing other pots I encountered. This is a major thumbs up product!

If you're thinking about stepping up to all-grain brewing or doing 10 gallon batches, this is the pot for you. Very heavy duty. One thing to keep in mind is that this pot might be a bit wider than you're used to, so you may find that your immersion wort chiller doesn't submerge as far in a typical 5 gallon batch as you're used to. This might reduce some of your cooling efficiency, but it only took me about 5 more minutes to get down to my pitching temp.
